The latest series of chemical attacks are being used by NATO allies led by the United States and the United Kingdom to corner Russia, which has been supporting the Syrian president Bashar al Assad in order to secure a better deal for NATO in Syria.
Brief background on Syria and deception:
Syrian civil war began in 2011 when the U.S. and UK Special Forces allegedly used a military base in Jordon to assist protests against Bashar al Assad, which slowly turned deadly. With millions of dollars’ worth of weapons flying recklessly into Syria paid by stolen oil money, it soon gave birth to an Islamic caliphate, known as ISIS/ISIL. The terrorist group ravaged Syria, and parts of Iraq until in 2015 when Syrian President Assad called on Russia President Vladimir Putin for help. Within a month, Russian air forces severely damaged ISIS by destroying their weapons stockpiles and oil tankers which were used to smuggle oil through Turkey. By the end of 2016, both Russian and Syria had upper hand in the battle.
In 2017, after the election, President Trump ordered a stop in arming rebels and he even suggested that a solution possible with Assad in power and Trump even suggested that maybe Syrian situation can be better resolved by Russia. As Assad was preparing for an EU-UN peace conference in April 2017, an alleged chemical weapon attack by the Syrian government took place in Idlib, which was in control of the rebel. The attack received a prompt response from President Trump, who ordered missile attack on the alleged Syrian airbase responsible for carrying out the attack.
While Western powers continued to blame Assad for the chemical attack, an investigation by the UN found that rebels actually used the chemical weapon attack to frame Assad and to end the peace efforts, https://www.reuters.com/article/us-syria-crisis-un/u-n-has-testimony-that-syrian-rebels-used-sarin-gas-investigator-idUSBRE94409Z20130505
Skripal poisoning and lying Boris:
On March 4th, Skripal and his daughter Yulia were rushed to a hospital after they were found unconscious at a park in Salisbury. It was later reported that the father and daughter had come into contact with an obscure nerve agent. UK government officials said the Skripals were attacked by "Novichok," a powerful Soviet-era chemical nerve agent used by the military. Though the British government did not provide evidence that linked Russia to the crime but was confident from the beginning there could be no other "reasonable explanation" for the attempted assassination since the nerve agent was first manufactured in the former Soviet Union. Great Britain was so convinced of their Russia theory, they rushed in levying sanctions against the country by quickly expelling Russian diplomats from London. Shortly afterward, UK capital officials reached out to NATO and their European allies who provided immediate support.
The situation escalated many folds as NATO allies showed solidarity by expelling hundreds of Russian diplomats to which Moscow responded in kind.
UK’s Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson during an interview, when asked how he and his country was so sure that Russia was behind the attack, he cited the OPCW approved laboratory as his source of the information and he stressed that the lab confirmed that it was Russia. It was later revealed that Mr. Foreign Secretary was lying, as the CEO of OPCW approved defense lab at Porton Down said that while he can confirm that the substance was Novichok, he and his team can’t confirm that the source was Russia. https://www.channel4.com/news/factcheck/did-boris-johnson-lie-about-porton-downs-evidence-against-russia
Latest chemical provocation:
Earlier in the week, dozens of Syrians choked to death after a suspected chemical attack struck the rebel-held suburb of Douma, after which the aid groups, the rebels, and NATO allies blamed Syrian President and his regime for the attack. While both Syrian government and Russia denied the allegations, the U.S. President Donald Trump threatened a forceful response. While it is highly possible that the Syrian government was behind the attack, but one can’t help but ask,
- Why the Syrian government supported by Russia used chemical weapons to attack rebels after Trump said that he wants the U.S. to move out of Syria and let others handle it?
- Why would Bashar-Al Assad resort to chemical weapons when his main and only ally Russia is being hammered over an alleged chemical attack in Skriapl poisoning?
Because it is plausible that the chemical attack was carried out by the rebels themselves. If that is the case, the obvious question is, which country is supplying the chemical weapons to them? One of the NATO member? If so, maybe that member was also behind the Skripal poisoning.
These questions are unlikely to be posed by journalists in the mainstream media houses as the NATO allies are looking to regain their footing in Syria, a country which is too important geopolitically to give up to the Russian alliance. Syria’s geopolitical location with access to the Mediterranean makes it a must-have.
