PepsiCo's Frito-Lay division will spend $235 million to expand its manufacturing site in Killingly, Connecticut mainly of two Cheetos manufacturing lines that could create 120 jobs.
Construction will begin in spring 2022 and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2024.
The Connecticut governor's office, which announced the expansion, noted that Frito-Lay’s Killingly site increased its number of employees from 200 when it began operations in 1980 to approximately 740 full-timers.
Strategic venture capital arm Connecticut Innovations is providing up to $5.5 million in sales and use tax exemptions on capital equipment and construction materials.
