Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL Release Date, Specs, Features: Leaks Show Google Doubling Down on Notch

The Android smartphone industry seems to finally be getting off the notch bandwagon, with several manufacturers abandoning the trend. However, it would appear that Google might actually be doubling down on this particular aspect. This is if the new leaks about the Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL are to be believed, which showcase a really big notch for the Google Pixel 3.

As smartphone pet peeves go, the notch has been one of the most divisive issues to have ever hit the industry. Introduced by the iPhone X and subsequently adopted by seemingly all other smartphone manufacturers, it has since split the mobile community. There are those who hate it and those who don’t really mind. For the former, the Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL leaks will be a major issue.

First posted on the XDA Forums and then circulating all over social media, the leaked photos have several key points that are worth noting. With the image of the Pixel 3’s rear, for example, the absence of the dual camera setup is hard to miss. However, it’s the front that will really have Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL fans scratching their heads: The notch is absolutely huge.

Of course, the size of the notch can be subjective since how big or small it is will depend on a person’s perspective. Then again, even a small increase in size can be too much for those who are not fans of the feature. With the notch shown on this Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL leak, in particular, the size can be an issue, Gizmodo reports.

It’s worth pointing out that the notch can actually serve a practical purpose and can serve as a practical solution on screen real estate issues. Unfortunately, this latest Google Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL image leak might have already put off potential buyers who were going to get it before.
