‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13’s episode 14, titled “Back Where You Belong," is set to feature the return of Alex to Grey Sloan. Meanwhile, Meredith will be forced to fight for her job after Bailey’s suspension.
The synopsis for “Back Where You Belong” posted on TV Guide reads, “Alex (Justin Chambers) returns to work and is greeted with many changes at the hospital. Meanwhile, Jo (Camilla Luddington) must make a tough call on a case; and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) tries to put some space between herself and Eliza. (Marika Dominczyk)”
Dr. Alex Karev is set to go back to work at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in the upcoming episode after Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) made the decision to re-hire him in the previous episode, titled "It Only Gets Much Worse." Alex was allowed to return to work, considering that he wasn’t convicted of any crime. All he needed to do was to bring in the necessary documents to proceed with the re-hiring process.
It seems that Alex’s world will be turned upside-down after he returns to a hospital he barely recognizes. Many changes have occurred since his exit and he will be shocked to find that things aren’t what they used to be since he left his position at Grey Sloan. Since Dr. Eliza’s involvement, hospital programs have undergone major restructures.
Dr. Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) will also find herself in a position where she needs to fight for her job and possibly even her career as a surgeon. The promo opens to Webber telling her, “Meredith, go back. Go get your job!”
The next scene hints at Bailey’s willingness to intervene in Meredith’s conundrum. Bailey insists, “We are going to figure this out like smart women,” and continued to explain her decision to Meredith throughout the promo. Bailey was forced to suspend the chief of surgery after the latter refused to work with Eliza.
Meanwhile, Eliza will continue to struggle with her new teaching position in the hospital especially since her introduction to the system was met with complete disdain by many of her colleagues despite her attempts to make the workplace more productive and efficient.
Eliza may have found a nice respite from the chaos with constant flirtation with Dr. Arizona. However, Arizona’s loyalty to her friend Dr. Webber may lead to some complications should the two pursue an actual relationship. According to Christian Times, Arizona will attempt to avoid any further developments with Eliza in the upcoming episode.
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13’s episode 14, titled “Back Where You Belong," is scheduled to air on February 23, 2017 on ABC. It was directed by Oliver Bokelberg and written for the small screen by Jen Klein. It will be followed by episode 15, titled “Civil War,” directed by Nicole Rubio and scheduled to be released on March 9.
