‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13’s episode 8, entitled "The Room Where It Happens", will follow Meredith working on a difficult surgery together with Richard, Owen, and Stephanie. The surgeons get into an argument regarding the patient’s procedure, risking the patient’s life. The case may also bring back crucial memories for each doctor.
The brief synopsis for episode 8 posted on Carter Matt stated, “A difficult surgery brings back pivotal memories for Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Richard (James Pickens, Jr.), Owen (Kevin McKidd) and Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton), as they work together to save a life.”
The promo opened with Meredith and the rest of the doctors racing to save a patient’s life in the operating room. She and Richard are then seen having an argument with Richard saying, “We need to discuss the options,” to which Meredith responds, “No, we don’t.”
It seems that the two are caught in a power struggle as they perform the surgery with Owen and Stephanie. Meredith also gets into an argument with Owen when he says, “My patient is fighting for his life.” Meredith insists, “He is not your patient!”
By the end of the promo, the team is caught as a crossroads about a final decision on the surgical procedure as the patient’s vital statistics reach critical levels.
The incoming episode looks to be quite a thrilling one as the surgeons are desperate to save a patient while dealing with opposing opinions about the surgical procedure. They are currently facing enormous amounts of pressure not just for the particular case but also from Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital’s new leadership.
According to episode 7’s recap on Entertainment Weekly, the arrival of Dr. Eliza Minnick (Marika Dominczyk) as “educational consultant” caused quite the panic for many of the series’ characters. She was brought in by Catherine (Debbie Allen) and Bailey (Chandra Wilson) to revamp the surgical residency program at Grey Sloan. Eliza quickly moves forward with imposing new rules much to Richard’s dismay.
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 13’s episode 8, entitled "The Room Where It Happens", is scheduled to premiere on ABC on November 10, 2016. It was directed by Debbie Allen and written by Meg Marinis.
