“Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16 is just a few months away, and excitement over the medical drama is picking up once more. Although the showrunners are keeping everything under wraps, fans have been adamantly asking what’s going to be the fate of the characters that were involved in the cliffhangers portrayed in the recent finale.
But apart from that, they simply want to know if there’s a rainbow at the end of this arduous journey of the main characters. While the story of Mer (Ellen Pompeo) and DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) remains the biggest cliffhanger in the previous entry, audiences have been asking what’s going to happen to Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16.
Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Krista Vernoff said that Amelia’s relationship with Link (Chris Carmack) would take on a more serious note. She said that while Amelia initially used Link as merely a rebound guy, that approach will no longer be explored in “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 may pair Owen and Teddy once again
Amelia giving Link a real shot in the previous installment has already hinted at this fact, and Vernoff said that she’s interested in seeing how this new narrative evolved. Fans, of course, are delighted at this decision since Amelia really needed a break after what she went through with Owen (Kevin McKidd). And speaking of Owen, it appears that “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16 will be pairing him with Teddy (Kim Raver) once more.
Teddy confessed to Amelia that she’s still in love with Owen even though she’s already with Tom (Greg Germann). It goes without saying that this is heartbreaking for Tom, especially since Teddy opted to keep him out of the loop that she’s in labor. This decision has polarized the series’ fan base, with some claiming that Owen doesn’t deserve Teddy after how he treated her. The showrunners making Germann a series regular is an indication that “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16 will be heavily exploring the love triangle between the characters.
Grey’s Anatomy Season 16 returning on September
So when is the series coming back? ABC announced that “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 16 will be returning on Sept. 26. Until now, it’s still unknown what sort of theme the next entry is going to take. But judging by how everything is shaping up, it appears that it’s going to be a season of heartbreak and healing.
