NEW YORK, March 05, 2018 -- Horizon Media, a global leader in data, media and marketing insights, announced today that it has partnered with Tempo, a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, to grow the number influencers and brands leveraging Tempo’s service to launch, distribute, scale, and monetize their content.
Brands have increasingly adopted the use of influencers as a part of their marketing mix to leverage their content and social media audiences in order to drive awareness and consideration for the brand’s products and services. As the influencer marketplace matures, influencers are creating their own brands with products across a number of categories.
For example, personal fitness is a content vertical that has gained significant consumer interest, and driven consumers to access content through mobile apps. According to a national survey from NYU Langone Medical Center, 58% of U.S. adult smartphone users polled, reported having downloaded at least one fitness and exercise related app. When Tempo debuted its platform in 2017, the distribution of content was largely controlled through the mainstream brands, media companies and influential personalities due to the resources required to launch, develop, market and operate mobile apps. As a technology platform and small business enabler, Tempo has levelled the playing field, and with the help of Horizon Media, together the companies aim to empower leading influencers and content creators to launch their own apps more quickly, better engage with their growing audiences and improve monetization efforts.
“I’m pleased to announce that we’ve landed another unique client opportunity in working alongside Tempo,” said Donnie Williams, Chief Digital Officer at Horizon Media. “We believe in the combination of the technology and leadership of Tempo as well as our expertise within the influencer space. We think this type of marketing and business partnership will serve as a blueprint for future partnerships between clients and agencies.”
“Tempo enables influencers and brands to launch, distribute, and profitably scale mobile apps which their audiences love, without any upfront investments in technology or infrastructure,” said Jeff Herbst, co-founder at Tempo. “We are delighted to partner with Horizon as they will allow us to bring our platform to a greater number of influencers and brands so that creators can establish new and sustainable monetization streams."
The partnership makes Tempo’s innovative mobile platform available to Horizon Media’s clients, and fitness influencers and content creators more broadly, by leveraging the dedicated team leading Horizon’s influencer marketing practice.
“According to the NYU Langone Medical Center study, 43% of U.S. adult smartphone users polled would pay for a premium (fitness) app,” said Pedro L. Rodriguez, Director, Social Strategy and Invention. “That’s one category but the research is compelling and indicates that there’s an appetite for mobile content. Tempo’s mobile app platform allows us to leverage our influencer marketing expertise to connect influencers and brands that create content with consumer audiences that are searching for this content. This is a first for our influencer marketing practice in establishing a performance-based partnership model that hinges on its expertise.”
