Hyundai Motor Group is considering raising the speed limit imposed on its first Level 3 self-driving G90 sedan under the independent Genesis brand, set to be released soon, from 60 kilometers per hour to 80.
Raising the speed limit will enable consumers to use the self-driving system more frequently.
Hyundai will equip the G90, to be released later this year, with its Level 3 Highway Driving Pilot system.
A Level 3 autonomous driving system is capable of driving the car by itself, even when the driver removes their hands from the steering wheel.
