FORT COLLINS, Colo., Feb. 20, 2018 -- Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq:AEIS), a global leader in precision power conversion, today announced its Ascent AMS (Arc Management System™) and new Ascent AP (Advanced Pulsing) process power technologies have been selected by IRUJA, a leading next-generation technology manufacturer, to support its high-growth mobile OLED business in China. Volume shipments have already begun for the OLED capacity expansion in China to meet the increasing demand for next generation consumer electronics.
“In this fast-moving market, Advanced Energy’s Ascent family has given IRUJA the plasma control and stability to be able to develop the world’s most advanced mobile OLED manufacturing equipment, allowing our customers to quickly bring new products to market with ever more demanding performance,” said Mr. Han, President, IRUJA China.
Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) technology is one of the latest innovations in consumer electronics screens and displays, heralded for delivering significant improvements over older Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD) in battery consumption, more vibrant colors and screen contrast, and thinner displays.
Advanced Energy’s Ascent product family delivers high levels of reliability and enables thin-film quality while allowing for new levels of advanced waveform customization. The platform is uniquely optimized to maximize productivity and capital efficiency, resulting in increased throughput and yield of the latest display structures.
- Ascent AP: Single- and dual-magnetron sputtering with advanced pulsing plasma control for sputtering dielectric and conductive films
- Ascent AMS: Stable, repeatable power with advanced arc management technology
“The comprehensive range of capabilities of our Ascent product family unlocks new process options and extends innovation for our customers. Partnering closely with IRUJA on its mobile OLED business, Advanced Energy has been able to provide the advanced technology needed for the increasing market and customer demands,” said Bruce Fries, General Manager, ACDC Products for Advanced Energy. “This technology not only supports IRUJA’s complex process requirements of today, but will enable new developments and applications for the future.”
In addition to the mobile OLED market, Advanced Energy’s Ascent platform supports a wide variety of thin-films applications including solar, large area glass, industrial coatings, flexible web coatings, and other flat panel display technologies.
