India’s data-center expansion could create work for power, cooling and electronics suppliers, JLL said, as government forecasts and company plans outline the AI infrastructure buildout. These remain potential value-chain effects, not confirmed earnings gains for individual suppliers.
India’s installed data-center power capacity stood at 1.57 GW as of August 2026, up from about 375 MW in 2020, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology said. The ministry projects capacity will approach 8 GW by 2030.
Reliance Industries said it would develop a 168 MW AI-enabled data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, under an agreement with Meta announced June 10, 2026. The facility is due within two years of the announcement, and Meta will lease capacity. Meta said it will cover the facility’s energy and water costs.
Adani Group set a target of $100 billion in direct investment by 2035 for renewable-powered AI data centers and said the plan could catalyse another $150 billion across related industries. The company named transformers, power electronics, grid systems, inverters and thermal-management equipment as areas for potential local manufacturing partnerships. These are company targets and projections, not completed spending.
