India’s Nifty 50 ended Nov. 2 at 23,440.80, adding 387.70 points, or 1.68%, while NDTV Profit reported an overnight GIFT Nifty quote at 23,600 ahead of Tuesday’s cash-market session.

NSE Indices’ daily data showed the benchmark had closed at 23,053.10 in the previous session. Monday’s gain extended the Nifty’s three-session advance, which EconoTimes previously covered alongside hopes for Iran dialogue and lower oil prices.

At 12:31 p.m. ET Monday (11:01 p.m. IST), NDTV Profit put GIFT Nifty at 23,600, up 197.50 points, or 0.84%, from its reported previous close of 23,402.50. The outlet also reported a session high of 23,621. That was late Monday in India, several hours before the next regular domestic session.

The two figures describe different market measures. The 23,440.80 figure is the Nifty 50 cash index’s close for Nov. 2; the 23,600 figure is a single-outlet report on an overnight derivatives contract. A futures quote can offer a premarket indication, but it does not establish the cash index’s opening level.

NSE International Exchange (NSE IX) lists U.S. dollar-denominated Nifty derivatives, with trading hours that extend beyond India’s regular equities session. The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) schedules the next regular session to open at 10:45 p.m. ET Monday (9:15 a.m. IST Tuesday, Nov. 3).

The Institute for Supply Management (ISM) reported its Manufacturing PMI at 55.5% in October, up from 54.5% in September. NDTV Profit cited the stronger reading as support for market sentiment. Its four-hour chart commentary also described a recovery from October lows near 22,200. The next scheduled cash-market open is the upcoming reference point for the Nifty 50 after the overnight derivatives trading.
