Business Upturn's analysis said natural-gas purchases rose faster than revenue at Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) in the quarter ended Sept. 30; NDTV Profit reported a sequential profit drop and an EBITDA loss. The July-September period was IGL's second quarter of fiscal 2027.

NDTV Profit put the company's EBITDA at a ₹31.7 crore loss, compared with a ₹293.8 crore profit in April-June. It reported ₹25.9 crore in profit attributable to owners of the parent, down 89.2% from ₹240.4 crore in the previous quarter.

Business Upturn's separate analysis of the results put revenue from operations at ₹5,615.38 crore, up 11.3% sequentially. It put natural-gas purchases at ₹4,647.42 crore, an increase of 21.9% sequentially. Those growth rates compare July-September with April-June; sales-volume growth rates compare with the same quarter a year earlier.

Business Upturn also reported total consolidated profit of ₹23.75 crore, a measure distinct from NDTV Profit's ₹25.9 crore figure for profit attributable to owners of the parent.

NDTV Profit reported total sales volume of 925.59 million standard cubic metres, up 8% year over year. CNG totaled 696.63 million standard cubic metres, rising 9%; industrial and commercial PNG reached 109.35 million standard cubic metres, up 2%; and domestic PNG was 73.31 million standard cubic metres, up 16%.

Separately, NDTV Profit reported that IGL is contesting a ₹330.73 crore Delhi Development Authority demand, excluding interest, tied to higher licence fees for CNG station sites through March 31, 2016. The outlet said the company treats the demand as a contingent liability.

IGL said its board approved unaudited standalone and consolidated results on Oct. 30 for the quarter and half year ended Sept. 30. The board meeting had appeared in EconoTimes' earlier Q2 results calendar for Oct. 29-30.

IGL's rescheduled earnings call is set for 5:30 a.m. ET (10:30 UTC) Tuesday, Nov. 3, corresponding to 4 p.m. India Standard Time.
