Anadolu reported that Iran said three vessels caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz, adding a new incident claim to a corridor already at the center of Iran's transit warnings.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) made a separate claim, saying mine strikes destroyed four tankers using a southern passage it had prohibited. The force said the tankers remained ablaze and that two other ships had been seized, separate from the four tankers.

Anadolu reported a later IRGC account of two tankers and a tugboat catching fire in separate incidents; an earlier IRGC statement alleged that four tankers had struck mines.

EconoTimes previously reported an IRGC Navy warning against vessels using routes the force considered unauthorized. That warning followed its claim that mines had set three tankers on fire, which it said were later abandoned near the strait's southern shores, as detailed in EconoTimes' earlier coverage of the route warning.
