With U.S. midterm elections set for Nov. 3, France 24 reported that economic strains tied to the Iran war are testing the loyalty of some of President Donald Trump’s Republican and MAGA supporters.

France 24 put Trump’s approval rating at 32% on Nov. 2 and said the figure was among the lowest recorded at a similar point in a presidential term.

The report described supporters as balancing political loyalty with economic pressures. It cited costs connected to the Strait of Hormuz blockade, the Iran conflict, unmet “America First” promises and controversy over the Epstein files as sources of strain.

Journalist Stella Elgersma’s report draws on interviews with MAGA and Republican experts about changes in the movement and what its supporters want. EconoTimes previously covered Iran policy, fuel prices and tensions within Trump’s coalition.

The congressional midterms are scheduled for Nov. 3, the day after France 24 issued its report.
