Brig. Gen. Mohammad Akraminia, an Iranian army spokesman, warned Saturday that renewed U.S. action with Israel could broaden the conflict and put its outcome beyond President Donald Trump’s control, Anadolu Ajansı reported.

Akraminia said renewed U.S.-Israeli action could make the war “engulf a much wider area,” Anadolu reported. He said the army was boosting combat readiness and tracking U.S. movements in the region. He added that “the end of the conflict will not be in his (Trump’s) hands.”

Anadolu said disagreements about security arrangements and movement through the Strait of Hormuz persisted after a June memorandum between Washington and Tehran. The outlet described tensions as high after U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran on Feb. 28, followed by Iranian retaliation.

Foreign ministers from Türkiye, Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia called for negotiations and safe commercial passage through Hormuz, according to an earlier EconoTimes report.
