Central Elections Committee Chairman Justice Noam Sohlberg said allegations, even if substantiated, would not undermine the vote or its results, as opposition leader Gadi Eisenkot said Netanyahu’s effort to cast doubt on the outcome had failed.
The Central Elections Committee (CEC) had scheduled the formal submission of official results to President Isaac Herzog for Wednesday, Nov. 4. Eisenkot made his statement in a post on X.
The CEC’s Oct. 28 update, covering 85.6% of ballots, put Netanyahu’s bloc at 53 seats and the bloc led by Eisenkot at 48 in the 120-seat Knesset. The 61-seat majority threshold left Netanyahu’s bloc eight seats short and Eisenkot’s 13 short. The preliminary figures left government formation unresolved.
Anadolu Agency previously reported that Likud had not offered public proof for allegations of Qatari involvement or broad election fraud. EconoTimes covered the seat balance in an earlier report on the preliminary count.
