Israeli media projections showed neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition nor the opposition on track for a Knesset majority Wednesday, leaving the next government’s path unresolved after the parliamentary election.

At the 11 a.m. GMT update, with more than 84% of votes counted, Israeli media projected 54 seats for Netanyahu’s coalition and 49 for the opposition bloc led by Yashar leader Gadi Eisenkot. Both fell short of the 61 seats required for a majority in the unicameral parliament. The projections concern the 26th Knesset and are not official final results.

EconoTimes previously covered the unresolved coalition outlook in its report on the continuing vote count.

Government figures show Israel’s gross domestic product (GDP) grew 2.9% in 2025 and 3.2% in the first half of 2026. The Bank of Israel raised its 2026 growth forecast last week to 5.6%, from 4%, citing higher output by Israeli firms abroad. The central bank’s forecast for 2027 is 7.5% growth.
