Residents in Cyprus told Al Jazeera Israeli tourism and investment are putting local businesses and communities under strain; the network reported nearly 600,000 trips by Israelis to the island in 2025.

Al Jazeera also described investment from Israel as expanding across several industries. Earlier EconoTimes coverage of Cyprus property records and Israeli-linked water contracts provides examples of that activity.

A parliamentary response grouped property transfer records with sale-contract filings, listing 1,406 entries in Larnaca, 1,291 in Paphos and 1,154 in Limassol for 2021 through 2024; it listed 58 in Famagusta. The Cyprus Water Development Department identifies Israeli firm Mekorot and Cypriot firm Netcom as partners at desalination plants in Larnaca and Episkopi. The department expects the respective contracts to end in June 2040 and July 2032.
