Italy to fight terrorism with culture

Vibrant Italian Prime Minister, 40 year old Matteo Renzi announced €2 billion additional spending plans, in the wake of November 13 attack on Paris. Half of that money would be used to reinforce security, while the rest would be used to boost cultural activities.

Every 18 year old will get a € 500 bonus to spend on cultural activities such as theatre, concerts and museums.

This is a commendable and innovative approach to take out the terror from people's heart after French attack. French are still living in the fog of shock and terror, fearing to gather in mass, whereas Belgian capital, Brussels home to European Union, Council and NATO headquarters remains in lockdown since Friday. Fear and terror only makes the terrorists win and it is really difficult to fight hate with hate, if not impossible.

Speaking at Capitoline museum at Rome, Mr. Renzi said, "They imagine terror, we answer with culture. They destroy statues, we love art. They destroy books, we are the country of Libraries".

His plan is however, yet to be approved by parliament.
