After the success of its first season, there is no doubt that there will be a follow up for the hit TV series ‘Jessica Jones’. The question that lies in that statement though is when is the premiere date of the second season.
It would seem that the fans may have to wait for a bit longer as the release date of the said show is not yet announced. But just to assure everyone, Marvel announced that "Jessica Jones" will be receiving a second season, there has yet to be any detail regarding its release date. In addition, plot details of "Jessica Jones" season 2 have yet to be revealed.
So with information and spoilers being elusive, we shall have to make do with some speculations and clues for the upcoming season.
Melissa Rosenberg, the show’s executive producer, recently shared some details regarding the season to come. It was revealed that "Jessica Jones" season 2 could have Jessica struggling with a villain that is more internal to her. According to Entertainment Weekly, Rosenberg revealed, "I think it is a problem for her currently. It is certainly an element in her life. I don't know if I'm interested in taking on alcoholism, but then again, you don't know."
With the death of Jessica’s long time enemy Kilgrave, it is speculated that there might be another villain that will make Jessica and everyone’s life miserable. And even with Kilgrave dead, Jessica might still be affected knowing that he was a good mind controlling villain.
Ritter stated, "For Jessica, that final victorious, triumphant moment when she kills Kilgrave, I found that very conflicting, in terms of her head space. He's the reason why she got up, every day. And I don't think that the past trauma just goes away with his death. So, her head space is really complex."
Stay tuned for more updates as we wait for the announcement of the release date.
