The anime adaptation of “Jujutsu Kaisen” has finally debuted and set the tone for the Yuji’s first ultimate challenge. Based on episode 2’s title and preview, Yuji will have to face a defining moment as he enters Jujutsu High as the installment focuses on the meeting of Yuji and principal Masamichi Yaga.
‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ episode 2 spoilers
The premiere of the new series has established Yuji as the main protagonist who is both reckless and wants to help people to follow his grandfather’s last words. This has led to him consuming the finger of Sukuna, aka the King of Curses, and the series main antagonist. It would have meant an immediate death sentence for Yuji, but Sukuna was not able to take over his body as the villain was supposed to do. This has convinced the teacher Goju Satoru not to proceed with killing Yuji and use him to eventually eliminate Sukuna for good.
This plan will be set in motion in “Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 2 as Yuji is brought to the Jujutsu High campus where he meets the principal Yaga. The preview images from the series’ official website show a glimpse of Yaga nonchalantly creating dolls. This appears to be a scene from the manga’s third chapter, which has the same title like the upcoming episode – “For Myself.”
Yaga would only have one question for Yuji in “Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 2: why does he want to attend Jujutsu High. Yuji initially says he wants to follow his grandfather’s dying advice of helping people. Yuji’s answer, however, will not satisfy Yaga because he does not want to have students who are only following other people’s requests.

To inspire Yuji to come up with a better answer, Yaga would use the dolls in “Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 2 to attack the aspiring shaman because the principal believes people give truthful answers when under pressure and attack. Yuji would then tackle the cursed dolls and declare that he wants to attend Jujutsu High because he believes he is the only person that can stop Sukuna. This conclusion should explain the meaning behind the episode’s title.
“Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 2 will be released on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1:25 a.m. PST through a simulcast on Crunchyroll as new installments go on air in Japan.
