Bang Jung Hyun, the lawyer who reported Jung Joon Young's chatroom scandal to the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, appeared on JTBC's “Lee Kyu Yeon's Spotlight” show on April 11. He talked about the controversial issues on illegal sharing of explicit videos and revealed many other shocking details.
The lawyer said that in Jung Joon Young’s chatroom, some of the videos and images shared by the members have signs that point to rape. Bang Jung Hyun explained that there are clips of an unconscious woman and they suspected that sexual harassment had occurred in at least 10 videos.
"First of all, there are photos and videos of an unconscious woman. I think there are about 10 including photos and videos that can be deemed as sexual harassment," Allkpop quoted the lawyer as saying.
He further revealed that he was able to contact one of the victims and it turned out that there were victims who were not even aware that they were violated or raped. This is because many of them appeared to have been intoxicated or drugged.
"I've recently come in contact with one of the victims. The victims don't remember it at all, Bang Jung Hyun said. “The photo shows a person taking off the woman's clothes and even if they've been raped, they do not know they've been raped."
Soompi also reported that Jung Joon Young paved the way for the investigators to uncover these ugly activities. The same lawyer said that most of the contents that were recovered from the chatroom were old conversations and the police were only able to retrieve them because Jung Joon Young did not leave the chatrooms as ordered by Seungri.
It was relayed that the group regularly create new chatrooms and abandon the old ones so the data and history would be deleted. However, there were many chatrooms in Jung Joon Young’s phone because he did not leave in any of them and this is why the contents are still available.
"The exchange were not just in one chatroom. Jung Joon Young stayed in all the chatrooms by himself despite Seungri's orders to leave and this was how the case was revealed,” Bang Jung Hyun stated.
