K-pop agencies are struggling to find concert venues as the likes of Jamsil Sports Complex and Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul are fully booked until the end of this year.
According to a Seoul Metropolitan Facilities Management Corp. official, no further reservations or changes are likely because baseball stadiums rarely have reservations canceled due to their all-weather features.
Due to a scarcity of concert venues, an increasing number of entertainment companies are staging performances in university auditoriums and other unusual settings.
"Concert sales account for a sizable portion of our revenue," a music industry official said. "It will be a huge loss if we don't hold any concerts."
Finding stage venues and safety concerns for stage designers are becoming more common as concert schedules become more crowded.
