Harris and Trump Make Final Campaign Push in Key Swing States
In the closing days of the U.S. presidential campaign, Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump intensified their efforts in battleground states. On Sunday, Vice President Harris rallied at Detroit’s Greater Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ and spoke to Michigan's Arab American community, emphasizing her commitment to peace in the Middle East and national unity.
"We have the power to shape our nation's future," Harris told church attendees, underscoring the importance of community involvement in democracy. Later, in East Lansing, she addressed Michigan’s Arab Americans, promising diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing Gaza conflict. However, some community members voiced frustration over her support for Israel.
Trump, speaking at a Pennsylvania rally, took a more confrontational tone. Veering from his prepared remarks, he criticized polls showing gains for Harris and accused Democrats of being a “demonic party.” Trump also referenced his survival of an assassination attempt earlier in the year, drawing applause as he criticized media coverage.
With over 77 million Americans having already voted, the stakes are high. Control of Congress is also on the line, with Republicans expected to secure the Senate, while the House of Representatives remains a close contest.
