Kate Middleton and Prince William are married for eight years now, but some of the stories prior to their marriage are coming out by one. For instance, new stories about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s engagement in 2010 are cropping up, and they are getting attention.
Was Queen Elizabeth snubbed by William and Kate at one point?
There was even an interesting narrative that stated Prince William, and Kate ignored Queen Elizabeth before they were married, and this happened when the prince proposed to the now-Duchess of Cambridge. According to Express, Katie Nicholl, royal expert, and writer, claimed that the duo snubbed Her Majesty, and she revealed the details through her book titled “Kate: The Future Queen.”
She said that when the second in line to the throne proposed to Kate Middleton in 2010, the Queen got snubbed as she was not informed about it. It was said that the first ones to know about the couple’s engagement were people who are not even related to the royal family.
Who were first to know about the Cambridges’ engagement?
Prince William got down on his knees and asked Kate to marry him in Kenya. "Back at the cabin, on the veranda, William made Kate the happiest girl in the world by getting down on one knee and proposing," Nicholl wrote. "Kate likely felt that every year she had waited was worth it all for this."
The place was secluded and very romantic, so it was the ideal location to propose. Telegraph published a photo of the log cabin where the proposal took place, and it was revealed to be owned by the parents of William’s previous girlfriend, Jecca Craig.
Since this is the case, it is apparent that the prince would have made an arrangement with Ian and Jane Craig, prior to the event. Thus, they were the first ones to know about the couple’s secret, which people are expecting that Queen Elizabeth would be the first to be informed.
Meanwhile, Prince William and Kate Middleton have applied to trademark the name of their foundation that centers on photography. The duchess is known to be a photography enthusiast, so she and her husband formed their Royal Foundation called the Earthshot Prize. Through this new org, they will expand support in this field.
