Kate Middleton and Prince William were said to be considering divorce due to alleged cheating. The Duke of Cambridge was said to have had an affair with a family friend who was later identified as Rose Hanbury.
The Duchess of Cambridge was said to be devastated since she considers Hanbury as one of her close friends too. Upon learning about her husband’s infidelity, Middleton reportedly collected her kids, and they went back home to her parents’ house. This led to the Duke and Duchess’ divorce as per the reports.
Prince William’s cheating scandal cover-up
These divorce rumors were never confirmed, but some media were reporting that the Royals are trying to cover up Prince William’s extramarital affair so there will be no scandal in the palace. The Guardian reporter, Nicole Cliffe, suggested that the family will act for damage control and this involved wiping out the traces of the prince’s supposed infidelity offenses.
“A real push by Clarence House to focus on Meghan and Harry as new parents and increase Wills and Kate’s news as they do more events together,” Nicole tweeted in March. “And likely a general increase in photo and story access to bribe the tabs.”
Kate Middleton and Prince William can’t divorce
While there are suspicions of cover-ups, that is why Prince William’s cheating would never be proven, it was mentioned that Kate and her husband cannot divorce even if they want to. This is because Queen Elizabeth will never allow it because she is fed up with all the divorce scandals in the family.
Three of her children are divorced, and all of them were controversial breakups. They made headlines, and the British Monarch was badly damaged especially in the case of Prince Charles who admitted to keeping Camilla Parker Bowles as his mistress when he was still married to Princess Diana.
Queen Elizabeth's warning
Queen Elizabeth reportedly warned Prince William before marrying Kate Middleton that he cannot divorce once he married her so he must choose wisely. Apparently, the Queen is trying to avoid further damage to the family, so she is banning separations as long as she is sitting on the throne.
