Keppel CEO Loh Chin Hua wants the Singapore group to become “AI-native” by 2040, The Straits Times reported. Keppel has said it uses AI in its business and that its data center, energy and connectivity infrastructure serves the broader digital economy.
Keppel’s Oct. 29 business update said its data center, energy and connectivity infrastructure serves broader digital-economy activity, with AI among the uses. In its 2025 annual report, Loh described the company’s role as “enabling AI and embedding AI.”
The company’s report said its Alpha and Duet generative AI applications had analyzed more than 50,000 companies and answered more than 17,000 questions. Keppel said Alpha can speed up investment deal evaluations by as much as four times.
Keppel has been reshaping itself from an industrial conglomerate into an asset-light global asset manager and operator. It says its investment structure brings limited-partner commitments together with sponsor funding and co-investors to support infrastructure projects that require substantial capital.
Asset management fees rose 18% year over year to $354 million in the first nine months of 2026. Keppel added $19.5 billion in funds under management during that period, about half through its Infrastructure and Connectivity fund strategies. The company said funds under management had passed its $100 billion end-2026 target in July.
Keppel’s Oct. 29 update showed different trends in New Keppel and overall net profit. In the third quarter, New Keppel net profit, which excludes the non-core portfolio for divestment and discontinued operations, rose close to 15% from a year earlier; overall net profit increased 20%. For the first nine months, New Keppel net profit grew more than 20%, while overall net profit fell 40%. Keppel attributed the decline to a 4% reduction in the gross asset value of non-core assets still on its books, citing impairments, depreciation, operating costs and holding costs.
The company said it had announced about $3.7 billion in non-core asset monetization transactions year to date and realized about $940 million. It expects about $600 million when the sale of the first six legacy rigs is completed, a transaction targeted for the end of 2026. Keppel says proceeds from non-core asset sales can support growth, reduce debt and reward shareholders.
Keppel’s investor relations calendar lists its 2H and FY 2026 results announcement for Feb. 4, 2027.
