LG CNS, LG Group’s information technology affiliate, completed a 30-MW AI data center in Jakarta; planned expansion could bring capacity to as much as 400 MW, The Korea Herald reported, citing the company.

LG CNS said KMG commissioned the project. KMG is a joint venture pairing Indonesia’s Sinar Mas Group with Korea Investment Real Asset Management Co., which The Korea Herald described as a local alternative asset manager. LG CNS characterized the project as the first time a South Korean company had delivered an AI data center to a client abroad.

The center is intended for demanding computing tasks that use next-generation graphics processing units (GPUs), LG CNS said. The company is preparing a site expansion that could raise total power capacity to as much as 400 MW.

LG CNS plans to offer subscription-based GPU services and include liquid-cooling infrastructure in its portfolio. The company also aims to expand its reach into the AI factory sector and pursue AI data center opportunities in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.
