South Korea's LG Electronics has sued Turkish home appliance maker Beko in Germany for allegedly infringing its patented TrueSteam technology for laundry machines.

The complaint, filed with the Mannheim District Court in Germany, claimed that a Beko subsidiary Turkish home appliance firm, Arcelik, made unauthorized use of its laundry machine interface.

Beko is Turkey's largest consumer electronics company.

The TrueSteam technology is utilized in a number of LG home appliances such as dryers, dishwashers, washing machines, and LG's Styler.

The technology automatically detects heat-sensitive items and suspends the steam function to prevent damaging such items.

"LG Electronics will take strong actions to protect the company's intellectual property," said LG's patent center head Jeon Saeng-gyu.

LG Electronics has previously sued Arcelik and Beko, along with Grundig, for alleged patent violations related to its ice-making system that could be installed in a freezer's door.

The Korean firm has around 400 international ice-making technology patents.
