MORGANTOWN, W.Va., Feb. 16, 2017 -- Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa, conveniently located just off of I-68 in Morgantown, is currently undergoing a $95,000 golf course renovation, including updating bunkers, adding new golf carts and more.
A four-time winner of the “Best of Morgantown” awards in the “Best Golf Course” category, Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa features two championship courses and offers breathtaking views of Cheat Lake and the rolling hills of West Virginia.
As one of the best all-around West Virginia golf courses, the Lakeview Course is rated four stars by Golf Digest and has been rated among the Top 100 public courses in America. This par 72 course offers an intricate tree-lined design, featuring large undulating greens, tight fairways and scenic views. In short, it is a golfers "ultimate" challenge.
The spectacular Mountainview Course winds through the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains. Golfers will need every club in their bags to master its unique design. Golfers will face tight landing areas, scenic views and gently rolling fairways. The Mountainview Course is a favorite among players of all levels.
Every bunker on the Lakeview Golf Course will be updated, including new shaping, drainage and sand. In addition, extensive tree pruning and conscientious tree removal will be completed to allow both courses to receive more sunlight and air movement. Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa has also renovated three “Forward” Tee Boxes on holes 3, 4, and 6 of the Lakeview Course. Both the Lakeview Course and the Mountainview Course will be receiving a new fleet of Golf Carts in 2017.
“We are thrilled with these exciting projects here at Lakeview,” said Tim Bucklew, Director of Sales, Marketing and Golf at the resort. “They will only increase playability and improve our course aesthetically. Both the staff and I look forward to welcoming current and new members to our Lakeview and Mountainview courses.”
Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa has also revamped its golf membership program for 2017, launching a “Membership. Redefined.” campaign. Memberships now include discounted cart fees, discounted green fees, charging privileges, and 10% - 20% off resort restaurants, rooms and purchases.
The staff of Lakeview Golf Resort & Spa will be participating in a number of upcoming golf expositions as part of this exciting campaign launch. Expos included the 30th Annual Cleveland Golf and Travel Show at the Cleveland IX Center February 17 – 19, 2017, the 29th Annual Pittsburgh Golf and Travel Show at the Monroeville Convention Center February 24 – 26, 2017, and the 27th Annual Toronto Star Golf & Travel Show at the International Centre in Toronto, ON February 24 – 26, 2017.
