The U.S.-hosted Group of 20 (G20) ministerial gathering in Atlanta is scheduled to continue through Saturday, after Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived Friday to join the talks.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry announced Lavrov’s arrival. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is hosting the meeting. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Thursday that most arrangements for the Russian delegation had been settled shortly before departure.
Zakharova has also said Lavrov would press Moscow’s call for changes to global economic institutions at the gathering.
