Less possibility for UK's unemployment to fall further

In UK's working age population(25- 49), the unemployment is an important category, which increase for the first time since June 2015. It edged up by 9000 from 759000 in August.

It is nevertheless approaching its pre-crisis average level after dropping in unemployment since beginning of 2013. There was a decline in younger category's unemployment (16-24 years), which was 30,000 (approaching pre-crisis level), while the old category(50+) dropped by 3000, for the first time since April 2015.

The self employed edged up by 54,000, recording its largest rise since January 2014, and number of employees rose by 35,000. Participation rate in September marginally increased to 63.4%.

"Further, in light of the MPC edging more dovish at the November MPC over concerns about the global environment, soft inflation and weak wage growth and unit labor costs, this report will underscore its concerns about the recovery of the UK labor market which appears to be showing signs of weakness", says Barclays in a research note.
