LAS VEGAS, July 13, 2017 -- Live Ventures Incorporated (Nasdaq:LIVE) (the “Company”), a diversified holding company, announced today that it has retained Doug Greene of Lane Powell, a national securities class action defense lawyer, to defend the alleged securities class action that the Company addressed in its May 9, 2017 press release.
The lawsuit is based on a false and misleading blog post published by Richard Pearson on the Seeking Alpha website on January 6, 2017. The Pearson post has harmed the Company and its shareholders. The lawsuit parrots the Pearson post and perpetuates the harm it has caused.
The Company and individual defendants plan to file a motion to dismiss the lawsuit at the earliest possible time—likely this summer—and intend to seek sanctions under the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act and other applicable law. The Company is also evaluating other options for seeking to redress the harm the Pearson post has caused the Company and its shareholders.
