“Lucifer” season 4 will pick up from the deaths of two important characters — Charlotte Richards a.k.a. Goddess (Tricia Helfer) and Marcus Pierce a.k.a. Cain (Tom Welling). Among all the remaining characters, Ella Lopez (Aimee Garcia) will be the one most affected by these events.
Ella, being the LAPD’s reliable forensic scientist, has had the chance of working or meeting both Charlotte and Pierce. It is also important to note that Ella does not have any idea of these characters’ real identity or having somewhat an immortal status. So in “Lucifer” season 4, fans can expect her to deal with this loss differently than the others.
“You have a dreamy guy who’s doing his job in a very militant fashion, and a hard-nosed professional woman who’s trying to do right, that are just taken away too soon,” Garcia said (via TVLine). Ella has no sense of Charlotte being the Goddess and Pierce being Cain. So to her, their deaths in the previous season are the ultimate end.
Ella sees that as an unfortunate waste of life and talent and it will hit her hard in “Lucifer” season 4. “That doesn’t settle well with Ella, and instead of lashing out at other people, she kind of self-destructs and implodes” — by way of “a bit of sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll,” the actress added.
Seeing Ella in such a dark place will be new territory for fans. She has always been one of the most loving, cheerful, and positive-thinking characters in the show. On the other hand, there is possibly a remarkable event that would help her get back up again in “Lucifer” season 4.
The release of “Lucifer” season 4 is definitely a product of fans’ effort to save the show. It can be recalled that it was canceled by Fox last year. But after a month of the #SaveLucifer online campaign, Netflix picked up the series. The show is slated to make its Netflix debut this year, though, a specific release date has not been announced yet.
