MILPITAS, Calif., March 17, 2016 -- Lumentum Holdings Inc. (“Lumentum”) has added a 10G tunable SFP+ optical transceiver for extended temperature ranges (-5°C to 85°C) to its Transmission Components and Modules product lineup. The e-temp T-SFP+ complements Lumentum’s current portfolio of tunable SFP+ and XFP optical transceivers, but offers additional features and low power dissipation capability necessary for high-density applications found at the network edge.
“For remote outdoor installations, or deployments with wide-temperature ranges, this device is ideal and extends the capability of our C-temp tunable SFP+ transceiver products,” said Kevin Affolter, director, product line management, Tunable Transmission. “In addition to meeting the rigorous e-temp requirements with low power dissipation, another key feature is the device’s cold start capability. In extreme conditions, for example a wireless transponder in a remote location, the transceiver self-heats up to minimum operating temperature for optimal data transmission.”
The optical transceiver is a full duplex-serial-electric, serial-optical device with both transmit and receive functions contained in a single module that provides a high-speed serial link at 9.95 to 11.3 Gbps signaling rates. The transceiver supports the enhanced pluggable module SFP+ specification SFF-8431 Rev. 4.1 for the electrical interface, and a full duplex integrated fiber optic transceiver that provides a high-speed serial link at 9.95 to 11.3 Gbps signaling rates.
Many of these products will be on display in Lumentum’s booth #2200, at OFC 2016, in Anaheim, California from March 20-24, 2016.
