Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX) will run a 70-minute Diwali session on Nov. 8, 2026, making contracts across all commodities and indices available during its special trading window.
The exchange’s Oct. 19 Circular No. MCX/TRD/590/2026 identifies the date as Diwali (Laxmi Pujan Day). The circular schedules a special session and a 70-minute trading period on Nov. 8.
The client code modification window opens with trading and remains open for 15 minutes after the market closes. The circular says the schedule continues MCX’s Dec. 15, 2025, holiday circular.
In a separate Oct. 23 notice, MCX Clearing Corporation advised members to maintain adequate margins for Muhurat trading. The commodity session will take place on the same date as a separately announced equity-market session by the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE), covered in EconoTimes’ report on the NSE’s Nov. 8 Diwali session.
