HOUSTON, Feb. 24, 2016 -- American Electric Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AETI), a leading provider of power delivery solutions for the global energy industry, announced today that its M&I Electric business has recently been selected to provide turnkey power delivery solutions for two power generation facilities in the United States.
M&I Electric received two contracts from a leading power delivery solutions firm. The first contract is for a new 200 MW dual-fuel, simple-cycle, quick-start power generation facility located in the northeast United States which will operate as one of the cleanest peak-load plants in the nation.
The second contract is for the modernization of an existing 340 MW natural gas-fueled power generation facility located in Arizona. The upgrade includes installing five combustion turbines powered by natural gas and removing two 1960s-era units to create a more efficient and environmentally friendly plant.
Both M&I Electric turnkey solutions include numerous custom-engineered and fabricated, climate-controlled Power Distribution Centers along with the installation of low-voltage motor control centers, variable frequency drives, turbine control panel, battery systems and motor starters.
"We are very pleased to have been selected to provide power delivery solutions to enable these two power generation facilities," said Troy Coker, Vice President of North American Sales for M&I Electric. "These contract awards are the result of M&I Electric’s continued focus on growth within the power generation market segment.”
