The Manny Pacquiao and Keith Thurman fight are only a week away. Thus, both fighters have been making their own predictions about how the match is going to end.
Through the weeks leading to the bout, Keith Thurman has been the loudest between the two, casting predictions left and right. Manny Pacquiao, on the other hand, also made predictions of his own and not a tamed one either.
Both men are convinced that they can finish the other in the early rounds, which means fans might see another slug fest going down. And with Manny Pacquiao’s propensity for aggression, this might very well be the case. Meanwhile, Keith Thurman isn’t expected to match this aggression as he’ll likely take advantage of his reach and height against the fighting senator.
Manny Pacquiao and Keith Thurman expected to draw a massive crowd
But it’s still going to be one entertaining match all the same if all the bluster shows itself on the ring come Sunday. The fight is slated to occur on July 20 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Manny Pacquiao and Keith Thurman have diligently prepared for the bout as it’s expected to draw in massive audiences, both in Vegas and live.
As for the odds, it appears that the Filipino icon has now taken the lead. Last month, Keith Thurman was the favorite to beat Manny Pacquiao as he was a minus-145 at the time. Now, he’s become a plus-110. This goes to show that there are still a lot of people confident about Pacquiao’s ability even though he’s now 40 years old.
Manny Pacquiao’s advice caution for Keith Thurman
Keith Thurman, of course, isn’t too happy about him being the underdog for this fight, arguing that him being undefeated should be enough reason to flip that narrative, ABS-CBN reported. Manny Pacquiao, however, doesn’t appear to care about the odds as he’s focusing on the fight.
“I always try to push myself and punish myself in training. That’s the key to my career,” Manny Pacquiao said. He added his hard work has always been the reason why he’s so comfortable in the ring. Meanwhile, Buboy Fernandez – Pacquiao’s chief trainer – said that Keith Thurman should brace himself as they’re going to bring an earthquake to Vegas this Sunday; an earthquake that’ll register on the Richter scale at 10.5, Inquirer reported.
