‘NCIS’ star Mark Harmon has been married to actress Pam Dawber for a long time and in fact, they just renewed their vows last year in a quiet ceremony in their own backyard. Now, the couple is celebrating their 32nd wedding anniversary and this is big news because staying married for a long time is quite rare in Hollywood.
So, how did Mark Harmon and Paw Dawber managed to stay together after all these years? Well, the couple has been very vocal about their desire to have a quiet life, away from the limelight. Although they are celebrities, they want their private life to remain private so they do everything to achieve this wish.
“Pam and I have both made a living in this business, and still, there’s a part of that that’s just not natural,” Mark Harmon told Closer Weekly.
Dawber added, “I don’t think two people can work all the time in show business and stay married.”
Moreover, Mark Harmon and Pam’s friends think that the two are perfect for one another. They click that is why their marriage is still stable even after three decades.
“They are a truly solid, no-drama couple. They are best friends who respect and are truly devoted to each other,” the couple’s friend said. “Pam is more outgoing than Mark, who’s shier. But they are both similar in their priorities.”
The friend went on to say that Mark Harmon and his wife does not really fight The harmony at home is surely one of the secrets to their successful marriage.
“They don’t argue a lot, they love their quiet and value hard work and honesty. They are truly decent people,” the friend further said.
In any case, Mark Harmon shared that another secret to their marriage is keeping a low-profile and staying away from the spotlight.
“It’s not even a choice. It’s who we are. We stay home a lot,” the 67-year old said. “I’m not a Twitter guy or a Facebook guy. Our sons aren’t into that either.”
Meanwhile, Mark Harmon denied that he is leaving “NCIS.” The actor will continue to be in the drama even if he is set to work on other projects.
