Meghan Markel and Kate Middleton are supposedly at odds with each other, In Touch reported (via Gossip Cop). The tabloid claims the tension between the two duchesses stems from them jostling each other for the spotlight.
Meghan Markle supposedly wants all the media's and public’s attention given the Duchess of Sussex was an actress before she became a royal. Meanwhile, Kate Middleton allegedly also wants the spotlight for herself and she feels that Meghan has “stolen her thunder.”
The dispute between Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton is apparently so bad that even their husbands and Queen Elizabeth herself have intervened. However, this narrative is likely false since In Touch magazine has a track record of publishing unfounded stories.
What’s more, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton’s relationship with each other isn’t deteriorating. In fact, their bond is becoming stronger, according to historical consultant Robert Lacey.
According to Lacey, after becoming a part of the royal family, Meghan Markle created a bond with both Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth. The Duchess of Sussex has been seen in several high-profile outings with Kate and the queen, each of them solidifying Meghan’s relationship with them.
Then there’s also the bond that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton share over the complicated rules they have to follow regarding etiquette. Apparently, the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge are required to wear pantyhose everytime that they are working.
Wearing these nylon tights are considered among the most traditional garments a royal woman must wear. “During the day it is something that’s seen as the most conservative, the most formal, the most professional in the role as a working royal,” royal etiquette expert Myka Meier explained. What’s more, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are also prohibited from donning diamonds during the daytime as they could come off as being flashy.
Diamonds are allowed to be worn at night. During the daytime, however, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are free to wear other pieces of jewelry such as pearls, gemstones, and sapphires.
Returning to In Touch’s allegation, the piece is most likely a fabricated story concocted by the magazine. What’s clear is that Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton aren’t at odds with each other, especially if the source of that supposed friction stems from something as trivial as wanting attention. Both women are part of the royal family, and that alone will ensure that they’re going to be in the spotlight every time they step out of the palace.
