United States President Donald Trump is known for having married three times. However, rumors are circulating that his marriage to First Lady Melania Trump may be declining.
The rumors started when Melania delayed her move into the White House until 2017, supposedly because she wanted her son Barron to finish the school year in New York. Even before then, rumors of his alleged affair with adult film star Stormy Daniels also had everyone wondering about the state of their marriage. It also did not help when Melania was seen riding separate vehicles from her husband and her absences from trips and keeping silent regarding their wedding anniversary.
Although nothing has been confirmed regarding a divorce between the First Couple, it bears noting that Trump’s previous two marriages involved pre-nuptial agreements. Those agreements may shed some light on his terms with Melana if ever the two of them decide to separate. Trump has previously expressed that the fact of drawing up a prenuptial agreement alone is “a hard, painful, ugly tool,” He goes on to say that “There comes a time when you have to say ‘Darling, I think you’re magnificent, and I care for you deeply, but this is what you’re going to get.’”
A divorce expert, Jacqueline Newman of Berkman Bottger Newman & Schein, shed some light on Melania and Donald’s terms to Business Insider, saying that it is likely that Melania made some amendments before she moved into the White House. Newman explained that Melania may have raised the terms considering the lifestyle change she is going to experience. Melania may have asked to increase the amount of money she would end up receiving in case of a divorce
Other details may also involve security, as in the event of a divorce while Trump is still president, major changes may also be made towards her status as a former first lady. Melania may also have to stay mum about her life with Trump, especially about their life in the White House.
But, despite the possibility of Melania asking for more money in their prenuptial agreement, Trump suggested that the First Lady respected his wishes. Trump even expressed that their prenuptial negotiations went smoothly.
