Michael Schumacher hasn’t been publicly seen following his skiing accident in 2013 that robbed most of his motor and cognitive skills. As such, photos of the German legend after the mishap is far and few in between, with most of the images coming from his racing days.
But three particular photos have caught the attention of Mick – Michael Schumacher’s son – and warned the public to not believe the story tied to it. The image in question shows the racing icon with several children that have been labeled as his own kids. In an attempt to provide clarity on the matter, Mick took to Twitter to address the confusion.
“These photos are often published because they supposedly show me as a child with my father. To clarify: these pictures here do NOT show me, and neither do they show Gina. I'm sorry for the people in these photos. I can only appeal to all media to remove them from their archives.” The young Schumacher didn’t provide information who these children are but it’s likely that they’re doting fans of Michael Schumacher.
The racing legend recently celebrated his 50th birthday last month and an outpouring of support from his admirers flooded in social media. Following the greetings, Corinna – Michael Schumacher’s wife – released a rare statement about her husband’s health.
She assured supporters that they’re doing everything they can to help the icon recover from his severe injuries. Corinna also explained to the public that Michael Schumacher’s health and convalescence will be kept private as it’s such a sensitive subject for the family. The fans, of course, respected the Schumachers’ wishes.
As for the legacy that Michael Schumacher left behind, his seven F1 titles are expected to be broken soon. Lewis Hamilton currently holds five titles of his own and if he doesn’t lose momentum, the coveted record could be overtaken in 2020.
