Microsoft on Wednesday rolled out Skype for Business app for Android. Users can download the new app from Google Play Store. Moreover, Android users with Lync 2013 will be automatically upgraded to the new app based on their device settings.
Microsoft explains that the app includes a new dashboard design where the user will be able to see contact search bar, upcoming meetings and most recent conversations. It also includes full-screen video feature and larger call-control buttons to mute and add participants to a meeting.
In the contact search bar, users will be able to search Global Address List by name, email or even phone number. They can also search for a contact within their organized Skype for Business groups and add or remove a contact.
Microsoft has also enabled modern authentication in the app that enables IT admins to configure multi-factor authentication for users. This improves the security much beyond the username and password level.
“With multi-factor authentication, users are required to acknowledge a phone call, text message or an app notification on their device after correctly entering their user name and password”, the online post reads.
