Argentine President Javier Milei arrived in Madrid on Oct. 20 with an economics speech and political meetings scheduled as Spain campaigns for a Nov. 29 general election.

Argentine presidential spokesman Adrián Ravier said Milei would address Nueva Economía Fórum and meet economist Jesús Huerta de Soto on Oct. 21. His schedule also includes an appearance at a presentation of a master’s program at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and a meeting with representatives of Fundación Disenso, which is linked to Vox.

The itinerary lists a meeting with Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid. An adviser to Ayuso told El País on Oct. 20 that the appointment had not been finalized at the time. El País has reported that Milei and Ayuso met on previous visits.

The announced schedule includes no meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. Milei did not meet Sánchez on earlier visits to Spain, El País reported.

Ravier said Milei plans to leave Spain on Oct. 21 and arrive in Argentina on Oct. 22.
