Mizuho said 84% of surveyed Robinhood users would use new money for most or all single-stock perpetual futures positions, a response it saw as limiting displacement of existing stock trades.

Mizuho surveyed more than 600 active Robinhood users. Of those respondents, 94% said they were inclined to trade the product if offered.

Mizuho maintained an Outperform rating and a $140 price target for Robinhood. The survey contributed to the firm's assessment that single-stock perpetual futures could work in the company's favor. Mizuho Managing Director Dan Dolev said the level of interest was favorable to the company.

Robinhood's Sept. 29 announcement set out plans to introduce perpetual futures contracts for U.S. customers over the coming months and extend some domestic stock trading to all hours. Mizuho's timing outlook pointed to the medium term, with no specific launch date.
