‘Modern Family’ season 8’s episode 8, entitled "The Alliance", will feature Gloria teaming up with Phil and Cam to hide their mistakes from their respective spouses. Meanwhile, Haley attempts to spend quality time with Rainer’s teen daughter but things won’t go as expected.
The synopsis for “The Alliance” posted on The Futon Critic reads, “Haley's (Sarah Hyland) plan for a fun-filled girl's day with Rainer Shine's (Nathan Fillion) teen daughter may be a little more angst-filled than expected.
Meanwhile, Luke (Nolan Gould) finds himself in a compromising position with a widow at the club (played by Joely Fisher) and unwittingly helps his grandpa, Jay (Ed O’Neill), with his petition.
At the Pritchett-Tucker home, Gloria (Sofia Vergara), Phil (Ty Burrell) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) have formed a secret alliance to ensure their respective "mistakes" are concealed from their spouses. However, their diabolical plan may be derailed when Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) starts suspecting something just isn't right.”
The incoming episode will feature a secret alliance between Gloria, Phil, and Cam as they attempt to cover their mistakes from their respective spouses. The three are known for their antics that don’t exactly suit well with their Pritchett partners. However, Mitchell may uncover their alliance after realizing that something is amiss.
Meanwhile, Haley’s attempts at some girl bonding time with new beau Rainer Shine’s teenage daughter will not go as smoothly as planned.
In the preceding episode, entitled "Thanksgiving Jamboree", Haley and Rainer are revealed to be officially dating. Haley invites him to Thanksgiving dinner with her family despite her father’s discomfort at their relationship. Rainer then announces that he and Haley will be vacationing at a resort in Cabo the day after Thanksgiving.
According to a recap on the A.V. Club, Phil is conflicted with Haley’s newfound independence but eventually gives them his blessing. However, Haley and Rainer decide to stay for the traditional family football game, Phil takes his anger out on Rainer by tackling him.
‘Modern Family’ season 8’s episode 8, entitled "The Alliance", is scheduled to air on ABC on November 30, 2016. It was directed by James Bagdonas and written by Andy Gordon and Ryan Walls. It will be followed by episode 9, entitled “Snow Ball”, scheduled for December 14.
