‘Modern Family’ season 8’s episode 9, entitled “Snow Ball,” will follow Claire and Gloria as they help their sons throw a holiday gala for school. Meanwhile, Phil and Jay try to spend some time together.
The synopsis for “Snow Ball” posted on TV.com reads, “A fancy holiday gala at school finds Manny (Rico Rodriguez) and Luke (Nolan Gould) trying to avoid a disastrous outcome thanks to a texting mistake.
Eager to pitch in, Claire (Julie Bowen), Gloria (Sofia Vergara), Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) volunteer to help at the dance and get involved in the night's shenanigans, including Claire and Gloria trying to set up a single mom with the principal, while Mitchell takes an interest in the school bully.”
It seems that the incoming episode will find Manny and Luke attempting a winter homecoming ball for their classmates but will have a hard time planning it. Their respective mothers Gloria and Claire will step in and help their sons with the preparations, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Meanwhile, Jay (Ed O’Neill) doesn’t seem like he wants to get involved but Gloria’s incessant nagging gets him to support their son anyway. Phil (Ty Burrell), on the other hand, is excited about spending some quality time with his father-in-law but Jay remains unenthusiastic, according to International Business Times.
In the promo for episode 9, Phil suggests that they bond over bowling or movies but Jay automatically shuts down. Phil declared, “I’m sorry. There isn’t a single thing you have fun doing with me.” By the end of the promo, Phil and Jay are sharing some time in a pool as Jay turns to his son-in-law saying, “Really?”
‘Modern Family’ season 8’s episode 9, entitled “Snow Ball,” scheduled to air on ABC on December 14, 2016. It was directed by Beth McCarthy-Miller and written by Christy Stratton and Stephen Lloyd.
