Netflix’s hit drama is returning and this will be its last run. The “Money Heist” season 5 will be returning for the last time and it is expected to nicely wrap up the story of the heist gang led by El Professor.
The fourth installment concluded with many cliffhangers so the “Money Heist” season 5 will surely be hectic as it ties up all the loose ends of the story. In any case, the Spanish-language drama has been confirmed only in July but the pre-production works have started long before the announcement.
The fate of the heist group formed by El Professor
Show creator Alex Pina has shared a major hint as to what will happen to the robbers. Some of them have already died in the previous seasons while the others were either injured or caught by the police.
It can be recalled that in the finale of “Money Heist” season 4, the gang was stranded in the Bank of Spain. This was supposed to be their last job but they were caught and surrounded by the authorities. With this, the team was placed in a tricky situation and they have no one to rely on now but themselves.
So, what will happen to them now? When the show was renewed for “Money Heist” season 5, Pina shared his thoughts on the possibilities of how everything will go. The group is trapped and the show creator said that it will not be a happy ending for the thieves.
“We've spent almost a year thinking about how to break up the band,” What’s on Netflix quoted the Spanish show creator as saying. “How to put the Professor on the ropes and how to get into situations that are irreversible for many characters.”
El Professor’s fate in the hands of Alicia
As for El Professor who was not with his team in the bank, his fate seems to be dim as well. This is because he was caught by the brutal investigator Alicia Sierra in his hideout and in the finale, a gun was pointed at him.
There are various theories as to what will come next in the situation involving El Professor and Alicia. As per Express, fans theorized that the two may end up being a team in “Money Heist” season 5 for an unexpected twist.
They suggested that this may happen after the inspector realize that El Professor may actually be of help to her. It can be recalled that she was already fired from the force due to her unlawful policing tactic.
“She will realize that if she kills the Professor, she will go to jail still based on her leaks to the press,” one fan wrote. “Killing him won’t redeem her.”
On the other hand, someone suggested that since she is pregnant, her water may break on the spot and El Professor will help her. With that gesture, they may join forces along the way since she realizes, he’s an ally rather than an enemy in the “Money Heist” season 5. But whatever, the ending would be, fans have to wait a bit for the finale’s premiere in 2021.
