“Money Heist” season 5 is already being talked about when the fourth season was just released last weekend. This suggests that the finale once again left a cliffhanger that will surely fans go crazy as they want to know what happens next.
Of course, the crime drama series is really exciting and popular around the world and since Netflix dropped all the episodes all at once, everyone who follows this show would have finished the entire season really fast. This is another reason why the call for “Money Heist” season 5 is getting louder.
Series renewal
But then again, before fans clamor for “Money Heist” season 5, a renewal announcement from Netflix should come out first. Unfortunately, there is no update from the streaming site yet. However, there are speculations that it was already given the green light, but the production team has no notification yet.
Series creator, Alex Pina, also shared that he heard about the fifth season and there are discussions about it but he stressed that there is no official decision as of this time. Speaking to Spain’s ABC, he admitted that they are talking about “Money Heist” season 5 but details are not official yet. “Someone knows there will be a fifth season, but we don't," he added.
Furthermore, Express reported that another Spanish outlet called Marca wrote that the drama had been approved for seasons 5 and 6. This detail was given based on the statement given by the show’s script coordinator, Javier Gomez Santander.
“With La Casa De Papel, we go game by game, like Simeone,” he told the publication. “Chapter by chapter, sequence by sequence, line by line. We do not ever consider how long the show can last. If we got to know the scope of the phenomenon, we wouldn’t have thought to kill Berlin.”
Despite these hints from the production staff of “Money Heist,” the official confirmation must come from Netflix. The streaming giant hasn’t released any update yet with regards to the fifth and sixth installments.
Release date
One “Money Heist” season 5 is confirmed, it will probably air in late 2021 or even 2022. This is because all filming activities have been halted due to the coronavirus pandemic which is especially severe in Spain and its neighboring countries. When it returns more bloodshed is expected as the thieves are in deeper trouble and they already lost a few of their comrades.
