RESTON, Va., Dec. 12, 2017 -- ScientiaMobile’s ImageEngine Content Delivery Network (CDN) service, which accelerates image-heavy webpages by up to 30 percent, is now available to more than 500,000 e-commerce companies who rely on Magento, Shopify, and Drupal to power their websites. With ImageEngine’s improved Smart Bytes pricing, e-commerce companies save money by paying for only their optimized image payload. New upgrades to ImageEngine’s optimization processes make these savings 46 percent more effective than what companies currently receive from CDNs and asset management providers.

“This innovation for ImageEngine makes it easier to use for e-commerce sites who rely heavily on Magento, Shopify, and Drupal. We have made it simple for platform managers to accelerate their images for increased sales and conversions on mobile, tablet, and desktop,” said Jon Arne Sæterås, the vice president of product innovation. Adding, “We have also improved image compression and file format selection to reduce payload by an additional 5-15 percent compared to the previous version of ImageEngine. This means images are accelerated even faster than before.”
Why this Matters to E-Commerce
A Google study found that 53 percent of visitors will abandon a site if a page takes more than three seconds to load. And mobile sites that load in five seconds or less earn up to two times more mobile ad revenue than those sites that load at the average site loading time. User experience and mobile speeds translate directly to improved e-commerce conversions and therefore revenue.
ImageEngine is available for a 30-day trial to Shopify, Magento, and Drupal users. And users can quickly test their current site to see the impact that image acceleration has.
